Sustainable film developing is something we are so passionate about, which is why we are constantly trying to refine and improve our day-to-day operations. If you want to read more about the chemicals we use, our packaging, and our donations to eco-conscious charities, take a quick look!

We are always looking for more ways to make our practices as eco-friendly as possible, and would absolutely love if you guys have any suggestions for us of how to do this. Whether that be sustainable incentives for sending us your film in eco-friendly packages or places to donate our empty film cannisters to, we would love to hear it!

News from around the world...

1. The film community in support of Ukraine

Lee Kid has made and released a coffee table e-book, filled with photos submitted by all of you guys from the Instagram film community! The book includes a range of kindly donated images alongside stories about each photographers passion for photography. Take a look at the book here, and donate on Lee's just giving page. All proceeds are going to the Ukraine humanitarian crisis appeal.

Our good friend Josh Richardson has just launched a brand new website, selling second hand, tried and tested film cameras!

To celebrate the launch of his new website, he is running a competition where you can win 5x rolls of expired film and 1x free roll of dev and scan by us! To enter, head over to Josh's Instagram @jfr.film and simply follow him, submit your favourite photo that you have taken on expired film, and tag a friend in the comments here.

There is no set theme for this competition, the only rule is that you must have taken the photo on film that has expired! If you've never shot on expired film there is plenty of time to pick up a roll of film from his website!

This competition will run until the 14th of April and the winner will be chosen by us!

Finally, if you're looking to buy a camera from Josh, you will also get 15% off your next dev and scan order from us too!

3. Street Candy films

A quick call out to our community, Street Candy, who sell their own brand of BW film, have released a statement to say they are struggling, and could do with all the help they can get.

Like us, they are very eco-conscious, and became the very first company to offer an alternative to plastic film containers by using recycled cardboard tubes for their stock back in 2020!

We are super passionate about supporting small businesses, especially those with similar sustainability passions, so wanted to put a message out to you guys... if you are looking to buy some BW film any time soon, why not check out their website!?

4. The release of Kodak Gold 120

And finally, probably the thing we are most excited about... Kodak have announced the release of a brand spanking new film, the ever popular Kodak Gold, now in 120 format!

We think this is the perfect opportunity for aspiring photographers and film enthusiasts alike to make the jump from shooting on 35mm to medium format photography!

Kodak Gold 120 is a super affordable, entry-level, colour film featuring an ideal combination of warm saturated colour, fine grain, and high sharpness. Designed for any level photographer for both daylight and flash capture.
