Making Film Photography More Affordable: 7 Ways we make film developing cheaper

hopedeamer1

We’re as passionate about photography as you guys. But let’s be honest, film photography is expensive, and film developing is a big part of that. That’s why at The Film Safe developing lab we have made it as affordable as can be, to help you keep shooting. Whether it’s your passion, profession or new hobby – we’ve got you!

With this in mind, we wanted to let you know all of the ways that you save money on film developing with us and get the most from your film, using our online offers and bulk discounts…

Bulk Bundle Pricing

Firstly, did you know we offer bulk pricing for 5 rolls? Our Develop and Scan Bulk bundle takes £1.00 off the price of each roll, saving you a total of £5 off our standard prices and up to 16% off your order!

Our film developing and scanning bulk bundle is also super flexible. You can mix and match any 35mm, 120, disposable camera, colour or black & white film in the bundle. The only film we don’t accept is ECN-2 but we have a separate bundle for this.

The bonus with this option is that you can buy the bundle and send us the rolls as and when you’ve shot them. We will hold your negatives until we have completed the full order and ship everything back to you at once.

We also offer A 3 roll bulk bundle for film Developing and Scanning with Prints. So, if you have a special event coming up, or just really want to see and keep your photos in their physical form, this is the option for you!

Just finished your roll? Lets get developing and scanning now!

Loyalty scheme

We have a loyalty scheme which many of you have been able to take advantage of for the past few years. £1 is worth 200 points, and with each £1 spent you earn 10 points back. This means that you receive over 5% back per order spend on future film processing.

Once signed up to the website, you will start to earn points with each order, which can bve tracked via the loyalty dropdown on our menu. And when it's time to redeem your points, all you have to do is head to checkout and choose how many you would like to apply to your order!

Developing & Film Bundles

You can also snag a 10% discount when bundling film with developing! To be as flexible as possible for your shooting, this works in two ways...

-       Pre-Paid Dev & Scan – Buy a roll of film & pre-pay for the developing and scanning (we’ll send you the new film to be sent back film once shot)

-       Dev, Scan & New Film – Pay for Dev & Scan of your shot film and choose a new film. Send your film to us for Dev & Scan and we will ship your new film back with your negatives!

For example: Buying a roll of Kodak gold and selecting to pre-pay for the developing and scanning OR getting a roll of film developed and scanned and choosing to have a roll of Kodak Gold sent back with your negatives - both these options give you 10% off your order.

This is just another way we are working to help make film more affordable for everyone! We also offer fair film prices. We regularly check in with our suppliers to make sure we are offering the best value for money and not overcharging anyone for film.

No hidden extras

Now this is one that we're very proud of!

We don’t have any hidden extras in our developing and scanning prices, which means that included in the price of your film developing and scanning, are professional checks and any required little touch ups to your images. Whilst carefully avoiding applying any personal editing styles, we work hard to deliver your shots looking the best they can be: rotated, small specks or scratches removed, correctly framed and colour balanced to provide you with the highest quality scans - ready to use

Other things we don’t charge extra for include half frame developing and scanning (except for prints) or pushing/pulling of film . We hope that this level of professional consistency helps put us a cut above the rest as we don’t believe in charging more for a professional service.

Refunds for blank film

Whilst we hope this never happens (!), if your film comes out blank we offer a refund for the scanning part of your order as this part of the order will no longer need to be completed. We also do our best to help you understand why your film was blank and answer any questions you might have. This means you can develop film with us and feel confident that you are getting value for money, not losing out when things go wrong and will gain assistance to ensure the same problem never happens twice!

Free return shipping

We offer standard return shipping to you of your negatives or film for free over £35, we feel this can help you to save money especially on bigger orders and is one less thing to worry about cost wise when ordering with us.

Referral program

Finally, we have created a brand new referral program where you can get rewarded for talking about us to your friends! When your friend signs up and uses our services for the first time using your link, you will both receive £5.00. You can access your personal referral link under the dropdown ‘loyalty and referral’ on our menu bar. Once your friend has placed an order with their £5.00 off, you will receive your own £5.00 voucher!

We hope that this shows just a few of the ways you can save money with us and how we are doing our best to make film photography a more affordable hobby for you.

-------------------------------------------------------

We have carefully created our film developing options to provide the highest quality output and most affordable film processing services around. If you have any questions about any of the above, we would love to hear from you. Otherwise, we looking forward to developing your film!

Hey Mohamed thanks for your question! If you find the service you would like to use and add it to your basket with the appropriate details, once you've ordered you'll get a confirmation email with your order number which you can put on a note alongside your name in your parcel with your film, so we know it's yours and what to do with it once it's arrived. For more detail on our service and and tips on how to post your film, please head to this page: https://www.thefilmsafe.co.uk/how-order Thanks :)
